I quit teaching back in November when we left for our trip to the U.S. I have no plans to go back anytime soon. Yes, I'm only five months into this mom-thing, but so far, I haven't been tempted to doubt that decision. I know home is exactly where I should be for this season of my life.
There are lots of touchy-feely Hallmark-worthy quotes out there on motherhood but I especially like this one:
"Few women realize what great service they are doing for mankind and for
the kingdom of Christ when they provide a shelter for the family and
good mothering- the foundation on which all else is built. A mother
builds something far more magnificent than any cathedral- the dwelling
place for an immortal soul (both her child’s fleshly tabernacle and his
earthly abode). No professional pursuit so uniquely combines the most
menial tasks with the most meaningful opportunities." - Dorothy Patterson
This more-than-a-magnificant-cathedral is being built one poopy diaper change at a time.
