Friday Five

I thought it would be fun to share a little bit about the bits and bobs that make up my life here, so today I'll share a few things with you.  Maybe it will turn into a weekly occurrence, who knows?

What I'm eating: We're going to a YWAM gathering/potluck this evening, so I made the ever popular in our home ayam kapitan.  I plan on making kettle corn for the dessert, because I don't have butter to make anything else.

What I'm listening to: When we put Ellis to sleep we start by playing Scripture Lullabies.  We started out with only one album but now we own all three.  We love it, but it's played so much these days that we can't stand to listen to it when we're awake.  So this afternoon when we were planning I put on an album called the Kingdom of Heaven is Like This by Rain for Roots.  It's children's music made in part by one of my favourite artists, Ellie Holcomb, and it's all songs about Jesus' parables.  It's catchy and cute.  I'm sure it will get really old someday, but it's a good way to add a little more Biblical truth into our day.

What I'm watching: Some lovely friends of ours (from our church small group) own an insurance company called Talent Trust (which we use).  It's a company that specifically serves missionaries.  They just put out a video about one of their client's stories.  These 'clients' (their names were changed in the video so I won't share them here) happen to be good friends of ours, but we never knew this story about them!  He and Reuben were BFFs here until they moved back to the states a few months ago.  They went to pay bills together, had coffee dates together, and were cycling buddies.  The potluck we're going to tonight is actually at their old house!

What I'm reading: I've been reading "The Shaping of a Christian Family" by Elisabeth Elliot.  And the Dalat Library has started getting World magazine, which is my favourite!

What I'm doing: We've rearranged some of the furniture in our living room to make Ellis a little 'play corner'.  It's not much right now, but he doesn't need much right now either.
