I pray a lot for peace.  Peace when Ellis sleeps.  Peace among families.  Peace in my borders and yours.  Peace in the midst of that fist-fight I drove by the other day.  Peace that passes all understanding in people's hearts, and in my own.  The name Erin means "peace".  Today, on this not-so-good Friday from which came all good things, I remember that peace is a gift, and it came at a price.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed." -Isaiah 53:5

Peace = Shalom: שָׁלוֹם
Contentment, completeness, wholeness, tranquility, harmony, rest.
