A friend of mine recently showed me how to make hibiscus tea. How did I not know this was possible?! It's easy: Pick flowers. I used four flowers for a pot of water.
Remove the stamens. Throw the flowers into a pot of boiling water and turn the heat off. Let sit for 20 minutes. I usually add a cinnamon stick for some added flavour.
After 20 minutes, strain out the flowers. The water will be purple. Add a few squeezes of lemon juice and the water will magically turn hot pink! Add sugar to taste. Hibiscus tea is full of vitamin C and antioxidants. Straight from the garden to the sippy cup (or your beverage holder of choice)!
