We've been in the habit of getting an Auntie Anne's pretzel every time we go to the mall. Ellis loves them.

I thought that maybe he would eat them at home, too, so I tried making them from scratch, using a recipe I found online.
What makes pretzels different from regular bread is that after rising, the pretzel is boiled in water with baking soda, and then baked (similar to bagels). They were fun to make and even more fun to eat. I'll have to make them again soon because they didn't last very long in our home!
