I recently found palm oil in the bread we normally buy, and I knew it was time to try to make my own. I've kneaded many-a-dough in the past, but I've never made a sandwich bread before. Whole wheat is tricky.
Lucky for me I stumbled upon the perfect recipe. <This > recipe rocks, and I'm sharing it with you because I love you. And no palm oil allowed!
It makes perfect toast. I ate it for breakfast this morning and I'm still thinking about it hours later. It must be really good for breakfast to make that kind of impression on me. The first time I made it I dropped off the second loaf (the recipe makes two loaves) at a friend's house and I didn't even get home before I got an urgent "I need your recipe!" message on my phone.
I'm not making any promises that I won't ever buy sandwich bread again, but this bread is worth every minute of kneading and rising. YUM.
Hi, Erin. I don't like a lot of ingredients in bread here either, unless I buy really expensive organic bread and that's not exactly in the budget. I love this recipe and have been making it for months now!
