The thrill of hope

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.  -Romans 15:13

I didn't mean to start a series of Advent posts with music and hymn themes.  It just so happened that I have been playing a lot of music lately.  And not just listening to it; listening to it.  There's nothing better than those old traditional hymns, and there's a lot of great new music out there that has nothing to do with being home for Christmas or grandma getting run over by a reindeer.

I pray that you and I will be thrilled by hope this Christmas season.  Take some time to listen the songs you've heard a million times.  Listen to it. Pause and linger over the words in Luke 2 that tell the story of Jesus' birth.  Read it.

And believe it.  Be awed and and astonished. I'm starting to.

A Savior has been born to you.
A Savior has been born to you.
A Savior has been born to you.
{Luke 2:11}

That's what a thrilling hope looks like.
