Year of the Rooster

This weekend was Chinese New Year.  Ellis's school had a traditional lion dance yesterday, and we joined in on the fun.  A lion dance involves very loud firecrackers and drums, guys in fancy pants running around under a lion costume (one is the head and one is the back), and throwing bits of cabbage everywhere.  Ellis's favorite part was when the lion spit out candy and oranges for the kids.

2017, in case you are curious, is the year of the rooster.  Gong Xi Fa Cai!
