I'm a boy mom.  My home is in a state of perpetual motion. If you were a fly on the wall, you'd hear incessant roaring peppered with questions about which animals eat people and which don't.  Nothing is worthwhile unless it is fast, strong, or heroic. You'd see, true to the second law of thermodynamics, that everything tends toward disorder.  Affection comes in the form of chase or wrestling or fighting with swords.  And that's just Ellis - Jesse hasn't really grown into his boyhood yet.  I am bracing myself.

This week, Ellis said to me, "Mommy, you're a wonder.  Did you know that?  You're the beautiful-est mommy in the whole world."  It caught me off guard because I'm pretty sure he didn't pick that up from any of his dinosaur books.  But I'll take it. 💗
