Nine years

Reuben and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this week.  We commandeered a babysitter and enjoyed high tea at the Suffolk House.  This is an early 19th century Anglo-Indian mansion that the British governors of Penang (formerly known as Prince of Wales Island) lived in while Malaysia was still early under colonial rule.  The house was restored about 15 years ago.

The house was also used as one of the locations for the BBC drama Indian Summers, which was filmed here a couple of years ago.   The crew left some of the furnishing from the set and we had fun wandering the rooms and wondering what life with a wraparound veranda on a black pepper estate would have been like.

Here's to nine years!
